The BBC has run a number of competitions for media personnel in the Asia Pacific region in an effort to build awareness of the advertising opportunities on the site. While the competition offered enticing prizes, winning the prizes required the entrant to have a decent knowledge of the BBC website and so drove traffic back to the main BBC website.
The competition micro site was fast and intuitive with minimal page loads ? there was opportunity to get bored and wander off.
C2 has rolled out the competition for several locations in the Asia Pacific region.
